Che oke' ten's method of teaching Native American
flute and mbira is unique with both instruments. He has found that
the spirit of the student must be free for personal expression to develop
from the beginning. He strikes a delicate balance between structured
technique and freedom for the spirit to find its place with the instrument
and the music. Che oke' ten has been playing Native American flute for 13 years and mbira for 5 years. He has been teaching for 5 years and 3 years, respectively.
